The cards at Sugar & Spice are ever so slightly different to those you see at other regular TCGs.
Most TCGs have no more than 3 different varieties of cards boasting various different worths and sometimes styles, but at Sugar & Spice (and many other food TCGs) we have 6 different types of cards.
Here is an explanation of different cards which will hopefully ease confusion.
|| REGULAR CARDS Regular cards are worth 1 and are the most freely available and are fully tradeable.
There are 2 different types of Regular card decks - the most common consists of 20 cards whilst Picnic Hunt mini decks contain only 5 cards.
Cards from the 20 card decks are available in the randomizer and may be taken as choice cards.
However, Picnic Hunt cards are not included in the randomizer, nor can they be taken as choice cards.
The only way to obtain these rare cards is by participating in the Picnic Hunt game or via trading.
|| SPECIAL CARDS Special cards are cards which members bake themselves. Each Special deck consists of 10 cards.
There is a variety of different ways to obtain the cards - sometimes they will be distributed as game prizes and may be taken as freebies if you are instructed to take a Special card of choice.
However, the most common way to earn Special cards if by following a Recipe.
Whenever you bake something in THE KITCHEN you will receive 2 special cards - one of them to keep and one of them to trade off.
Special cards are fully tradeable with other members - you may trade them for another Special card or 2 Regular cards.
|| SUPER SPECIAL CARDS
Incredibly rare Super Special Cards are not included in any of the randomizers and therefore can only be taken as freebies when instructed or as choice cards.
The decks feature commemorative cards celebrating, amongst other things - birthdays and milestones the TCG reaches.
Consequently the decks have no specific number of cards as they are expanded regularly.
Often in the INTERACTIVE section you may see a special card of choice listed as a prize - you are welcome to take a card worth 3 in this instance.
These cards are fully tradeable with other members, like Special cards they may be traded for another card of the same value or numerous other cards which amount to the same value.
|| RECIPE CARDS
These cards feature the Recipes you will be using in THE KITCHEN.
Each card lists the Ingredients you will need to bake plus details of the reward you will receive each time you have collected all of the Ingredients.
|| INGREDIENT CARDS
All Ingredient cards are worth zero but, like Recipes, are fully tradeable.
Unlike Recipes however, you can master the set. Ingredients are frequently given as rewards in the Interactive section.
Doubles of Ingredients are quite common and whilst you are very welcome to trade these with other members it is recommended that you keep hold of them to ensure that you;re always well stocked for baking.
For example, to bake a Strawberry Rhubarb Pie card you require - 1 flour, 2 sugars, 1 baking soda, 1 oil, 2 eggs & 1 vanilla.
If you've only kept 3 sugar cards & 3 egg cards and traded all your doubles, once you have baked your Pie you will only have 1 of each left and it may be a while before you come across any more sugar or eggs cards and therefore you will not be able to 'bake' again for a while.
As I said you are very welcome to trade your double Ingredients, it is certainly not mandatory that you keep hold of them, my advising you to keep them is simply that - a friendly piece of advice.
|| MEMBER CARDS
Last but not least are Member Cards which are exactly what you would expect; a member's very own card which they have unlimited supply of to trade with other members in exchange for their Member Cards.
All Member Cards are worth 0 and are masterable for every 20 you collect.
Hopefully you are now an expert on the cards here at SUGAR & SPICE but please don't hesitate to ASK if you have any questions.
